Grape History: Of unknown origin, the vine is characteristic of viticulture Abruzzo and other regions of central and southern Italy. The name allows the hypothesis of its origin from the territory of Montepulciano, in the province of Siena, as the place of origin. It is thought to have been introduced in Abruzzo in the early nineteenth century. The vine arrived in Puglia at the beginning of the twentieth century, first in the province of Foggia, and then to the province of Bari, Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto.
Harvest: Late September
Vinification: 12 days prolonged maceration of the wine on its skins in stainless steel tanks. Soft pressing, fermentation in stainless steel tanks with controlled fermenting temperature at 25ºC
Aging: At least 8 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling and in the bottles
Bottling: Late summer, with waning moon.

Location: Predicatella vineyard, in the DOC area of San Severo, in the direction of the city of Foggia. At the foot of the Gargano.
