Skandis Fine Wines, LLC was founded for the purpose of preserving heirloom grape varietals – wines the typical consumer has never heard of – grapes that could otherwise reach a level of extinction because they are so unknown and grown in such limited quantities. Without Skandis Fine Wines concentrated efforts of educating about these unique grape varietals such as Erbaluce, Aglianico, Negroamaro, Nero di Troia, Falanghina, Malvasia, Bombino – to name a few – these fragile grape varietals risk being torn out of the vineyards and more typical grapes, such as Chardonnay and Cabernet being planted in their place to sustain the economic need of these small communities.
True to our mission, we are currently educating United States wine enthusiasts by providing corporate and home wine tastings – working Chefs who are also passionate about our heirloom wines and providing individuals the rare opportunity to experience these once in a lifetime wines with exquisite culinary pairings.
